Bento: ‘Chinese’ Chicken Curry Rice
Used the curry and agar agar my mum made for my sister’s friends who came visiting to add to my lunch. My sister’s friends love my mum’s curry and every time they visit, they would request for the curry instead of anything else. Hmmm, my friends seem to crave the same thing too…
I also snuck some slices of sausages that my mum uses to make pizza out of the fridge and used it as a separator I label this as ‘chinese’ curry specifically (though it may be Peranakan? Because my mum got this recipe from my grandma, who was a Nyonya. ) because it tastes different from the Indian kind and the Japanese Golden curry too. Also, Jivaan insisted that it’s different haha~ You’ll understand if you eat curry from a chinese store!
I managed to stuff two agar agar jelly along with some seedless grapes for a nice sweet dessert. I love agar agar because it is so easy to make and you can modify it in so many ways, as the flavour would be different with different fruits added, or flavouring etc.
Will be eating curry again tomorrow but instead of the Chinese/Peranakan version, it will be the Japanese Golden curry (because mum made some for dinner tonight)!
